carolathhabsburg: Mary Nolan So, this is something weird, but it’s REALLY rare that I think a woman pre-1940 is beautiful. I can’t totally explain it. I think it is a combined effort of their ugly makeup/hair styling, their poor photographic technology and skill, and their general gene pool back then, but I would say that I only see a photo of a woman pre-40s that I find beautiful every few months (and I look at old photos constantly). Mary Nolan is definitely one of those exceptions. HOT!!!! Jesus she’s beautiful. Most people just didn’t look like this back then! It’s especially ironic considering I’m most obsessed with the world and fashion and style from pre-1950 world….whatever, don’t make me explain myself! Turns out, though, that Mary had the SHITTIEST LIFE EVER! So I guess even then beauty didn’t get you shit.
